Young Composers Past and Present   [full program]
The music of a young composer is his introduction to the world. In this program we’ll hear some music that made the world sit up and listen! We’ll hear the sincere Ballades opus 10 written by 23-year-old Brahms; the sensual, direct Pour le Piano written by Debussy just before his rise to fame; and we’ll discover music which is new today: the vibrant, groovy Sonata til Lifsins by Icelandic composer Mist Thorkelsdottir.

Barbara Lieurance transforms the piano into a playground of exploratory sounds, with a program of contemporary music that includes bowed, plucked and prepared piano.
